[Japan] “Money20/20,” held in Las Vegas, USA, concluded on October 21, 2026, at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. The event reportedly drew approximately 11,000 attendees from more than 85 countries, over 3,000 companies, 450 sponsors, and more than 600 speakers from across the global financial ecosystem.

Money20/20 USA examined the four defining elements shaping the industry: borderless financial architecture; technology as a great equalizer; partnerships as a driver of scale; and the regulatory safeguards necessary to build trust.Through more than 200 hours of content, discussions focused on how innovation is transforming payments, banking, commerce, and the flow of funds around the world.

Stablecoins and tokenization drew particular attention, with discussions shifting from potential use cases to the infrastructure, partnerships, and regulatory frameworks necessary for mainstream adoption. On the Intersection stage—Money20/20’s dedicated platform for traditional finance and decentralized finance—representatives from Citi, Visa, Western Union, Coinbase, and Circle explored how digital assets are transforming payments, capital markets, and 24/7 settlement.

Momentum toward real-world implementation was further accelerated by major announcements. Mesh announced a strategic partnership with Visa to enable consumers to make payments using cryptocurrencies and Stablecoin Payments across Visa’s global payment network.Mastercard unveiled Stablecoin Security, designed to allow financial institutions to assess transaction risks before funds are transferred, while Thunes and Coinbase announced a strategic partnership to connect digital asset infrastructure to domestic payment networks worldwide.
Artificial intelligence has emerged as a force capable of transforming not only financial services but also the very way funds flow. The discussion is expanding beyond traditional AI applications to agent-based AI, where autonomous systems perform tasks, make decisions, and facilitate transactions.Representatives from Plaid, Perplexity, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, and Fiserv discussed the expanding role of AI in financial decision-making, customer experience, and business operations, as well as the opportunities and risks involved in deploying these technologies at scale.
As AI agents become increasingly involved in commercial transactions and payments, the importance of fraud prevention and security measures is growing. The event featured discussions on how financial institutions can leverage AI to detect fraud, automate risk assessments, and strengthen customer protection while addressing new vulnerabilities. The challenge of securely processing agent-driven transactions was also addressed, with Evervault unveiling a browser token that enables AI agents and agent-driven browsers to complete online purchases without accessing sensitive payment or authentication information.
Collaboration across the entire financial ecosystem was also emphasized. Banks, fintech companies, technology firms, investors, and regulators explored how embedded finance, fintech-as-a-service, and shared infrastructure can accelerate innovation. At the closed-door “Policy20” roundtable, policymakers, central bankers, regulators, and industry leaders gathered, with representatives from the White House, the U.S. Congress, the Federal Reserve Board, and international central banks discussing regulatory clarity, digital assets, AI governance, data access, and consumer protection.
