[Japan] Satofuru (Tokyo, Japan), the operator of the “Satofuru” hometown tax donation portal, began selling regional support goods that can be purchased using “Satofuru My Points” on August 13, 2026.These regional support goods are designed to convey the challenges and charms of local communities—such as disaster recovery efforts and the preservation of regional culture and traditional crafts—through the products themselves. Users can support these communities by purchasing these goods. Additionally, a top-up feature has been added to “Satofuru My Points,” allowing users to use the points not only for purchasing regional support goods but also for making donations to local governments.

To date, Satofuru has connected local governments nationwide with donors through the “Furusato Nozei” program, promoting regional revitalization. At the same time, as the use of “Furusato Nozei” expands, Satofuru believes it is important to create opportunities for donors to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by local businesses and artisans, the progress of reconstruction in disaster-affected areas, and the value of traditional skills and culture that have been passed down through generations.
The “Regional Support Goods” program being launched now is described as a new form of support—not merely the purchase of products, but a way to participate in the stories of these regions. By delivering products that represent local businesses in the midst of recovery, as well as traditional crafts and regional cultures facing challenges such as a shortage of successors, the program provides users with an opportunity to connect with these regions in their daily lives.
These regional support goods are exclusive to “Satofuru” and can only be purchased using “Satofuru My Points” (regional support goods are not eligible for tax credits).
Note that “Satofuru My Points,” which launched in 2022, was previously offered as a points service earned through campaigns and other promotions; however, the issuance of new points ceased in October 2025.
However, “Satofuru My Points” continues to be available as points that can be used for donation payments and other purposes, and users will now be able to top up their accounts using a credit card.Since “Satofuru My Points” can be used to pay for donations, users can proceed with the donation process by topping up their balance in advance. Additionally, users will now be able to purchase “Regional Support Goods” using “Satofuru My Points.” (paymentnavi Editorial Team)
