[Japan] KDDI and au Financial Services (au FS, Tokyo, Japan) are running a campaign from August 3 to September 30, 2026, in which customers who use au PAY (code payment) at over 300,000 participating stores of the South Korean code payment provider “paybooc”—including convenience stores, restaurants,duty-free shops, and other locations—where customers can use au PAY (code payment)—will receive Ponta Points equivalent to up to 20% of their total spending during the campaign period.

Users must complete identity verification (eKYC) via the au PAY app while in Japan. They must also agree to the au PAY Overseas Code Payment Terms and Conditions.
Furthermore, using au PAY (Code Payment) overseas allows users to shop without exchanging foreign currency. Features such as balance displays in both Japanese yen and local currency, along with real-time exchange rate updates, make it easy to track spending.Furthermore, just as with domestic use in Japan, users will earn 1 Ponta point for every 200 yen spent.
