American Express International, Inc. (hereinafter “American Express”) will run the “Earn Points by Paying with Your Credit Card!” campaign from August 1 to 31, 2026. Eligible cardholders who use their American Express-issued cards to pay for train fares with 10 railway operators in the Kanto region will be entered into a drawing to win 2,000 points.

“Credit Card Ride” is a travel method where, similar to contactless payments at stores, passengers can enter and exit stations simply by holding their credit card up to a compatible ticket gate. No prior setup or registration is required; users can ride without worrying about their prepaid balance and earn credit card points at the same time.
To enter this campaign, simply use credit card boarding at least once with an eligible American Express card on a participating railway operator. You’ll receive a number of entries based on the number of card transactions made during the campaign period. Through a random drawing, 10,000 winners will receive 2,000 bonus Membership Rewards points.
During the campaign period, in addition to credit card payments for train fares, all card transactions of 100 yen (tax included) or more made with an eligible card count toward the number of entries. The more you use your card for everyday shopping and dining, the higher your chances of winning.
Eligible rail operators include Tokyo Metro, Tokyu Corporation, Odakyu Electric Railway, Seibu Railway, Keio Corporation, Keihin Electric Express Railway, the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei Subway), Sagami Railway, Yokohama High-Speed Railway, and Odakyu Hakone.
If you travel beyond the eligible service area, your credit card fare will become invalid starting from the boarding station, and you will be required to pay the fare in cash or other methods (excluding credit card payments) in 10-yen increments. In this case, the travel segment covered by the 10 participating railway operators will also be excluded from this campaign.
