[Japan] Stripe announced that it will host “Stripe Tour Tokyo 2026,” its annual conference, on September 30, 2026, where attendees can experience payment trends in the AI era, Stripe’s initiatives, and the cutting edge of fintech.The conference will mark the 10th anniversary of Stripe’s expansion into Japan, and Stripe co-founder John Collison will be visiting Japan for the event. The company also plans to announce new products and features tailored for the Japanese market.

The Stripe Tour is an annual conference held in major cities around the world, bringing together business leaders who are driving transformation.This year marks a significant milestone—the 10th anniversary of Stripe’s launch in Japan. Through this event, Stripe aims to express its gratitude for the past decade spent alongside its users while also introducing the latest technologies and insights to accelerate business growth in the rapidly evolving AI era.
On the day of the event, Stripe co-founder and President John Collison and Head of Data & AI Emily Glassberg Sands, among others, will visit Japan to discuss Stripe’s latest initiatives and trends in payments and finance.The keynote address will feature a business update from Stripe, as well as an overview of the company’s global investments and strategies in the fields of AI and Stablecoin Payments. Additionally, Mitsuru Hiraga and Daniel Heffernan, Co-CEOs of Stripe Japan, are scheduled to share insights on the company’s operations in Japan and announce new products and features tailored for the Japanese market.
The keynote will feature David Ha, Representative Director of Sakana AI, Inc., who will draw on the company’s insights as a pioneering Japanese AI firm to explore growth strategies for Japanese companies to build a competitive edge in the global market in the age of AI.
Additionally, the fireside chat will feature Tomoko Namba, Representative Director and CEO of DeNA, who will join Mr. Collison for a candid discussion on the front lines of transformation—ranging from her philosophy as a founder to the current state of business being transformed by AI agents, and the conditions under which Japanese innovations can take on the world.
Finally, in the session closing the event, Emily Sands, Head of Data & AI at Stripe, who leads the AI business there, will explain the latest trends in agent-based commerce enabled by AI agents—a technology expected to gain traction in the Japanese market as well. She will be joined by Suwen Weng, Executive Officer and VP of Product Marketplace New Business at Mercari, who will delve deeper into agent-based commerce alongside Daniel.
