[Japan] JCB, Vesca, and Japan Card Network (CARDNET)—all three companies based in Tokyo, Japan—have reached a basic agreement to collaborate on the joint deployment of a merchant platform solution provided by Vesca. This solution is intended for merchants ranging from large-scale to small and medium-sized businesses.
Additionally, as a result of this collaboration, some of the payment terminals deployed by Vesca are scheduled to be compatible with “tance mall,” operated by tance, a subsidiary of CARDNET.
As a result, in addition to traditional cashless payment functions such as credit cards, Vesca’s “Verifone terminals” will enable Merchants to access value-added services on “tance mall” to enhance customer acquisition, improve operational efficiency, and support digital transformation (DX).
The jointly developed solution will provide all-in-one terminals that support a variety of payment methods, including credit cards, electronic money, and QR Code Payment. Terminals will be offered in a range of configurations—including models designed to interface with higher-end systems, mobile terminals with or without printers, and countertop terminals—to suit different store formats and needs.
Furthermore, by enabling the use of business applications on payment terminals such as the “Victa” series through “tance mall,” the solution helps streamline store operations and support digital transformation.

“Tance Mall” is a service platform that enables store operation services—such as POS system usage, issuance of invoices compliant with tax regulations, and receipt advertising—to be accessed on devices ranging from payment terminals to general-purpose tablets, depending on the usage scenario.
Furthermore, it offers a dashboard that allows users to manage transaction histories and sales data for credit cards, e-money, and QR Code Payments all on a single screen. For credit card transactions, transaction histories can be viewed in real time, and transactions can be canceled or returns processed directly on the screen.
The three companies aim to provide new solutions based on payment infrastructure and expand features and services to address social and industry challenges facing merchants, such as labor shortages, increasing workloads, diversifying payment methods, and the need to meet evolving customer needs. In addition, they will gradually expand the range of tance-compatible apps available on Vesca’s payment terminals, leading to the creation of an environment where sales management, promotional activities, and support for inbound tourists can be utilized seamlessly.
