FamilyMart is partnering with Chuan Ying Payment Fintech Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taipei, Taiwan), the operator of the Taiwanese digital payment app “Chuan Ying+PAY” (hereinafter “PlusPay”), with the aim of further enhancing the shopping experience for tourists from Taiwan.Starting July 29, 2026, when customers make a PlusPay payment in Japan, the app will begin distributing discount coupons redeemable at FamilyMart stores in Japan.

The coupon distribution period will run from July 29 to February 20, 2027, and the coupon redemption period will be from July 29 to February 28, 2027.
According to an announcement by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the number of tourists visiting Japan from Taiwan in 2025 reached 6.76 million (an 11% increase from the previous year), setting a new annual record.Driven by the continued popularity of travel to Japan and an increase in airline seat capacity on regional routes, the number of tourists from Taiwan to Japan ranks third globally, following South Korea and China.Furthermore, from January to March 2026, travelers from Taiwan had the highest purchasing power among all foreign visitors to Japan. Their spending reached 388.4 billion yen, accounting for 16.6% of the total.
FamilyMart and Zhenying+PAY are distributing these coupons to enable the growing number of tourists from Taiwan to enjoy convenient and cost-effective shopping at FamilyMart stores in Japan.
When tourists from Taiwan use PlusPay to make payments in Japan during their trip, they will receive a push notification for the coupon. By accessing the designated page from the notification to obtain a discount coupon for eligible FamilyMart products and using PlusPay at checkout, the discount will be applied at the time of payment.
Notably, PlusPay is the first electronic payment brand in Taiwan to adopt “Payment Inside,” an embedded payment fintech solution. It can be used at FamilyMart stores in Taiwan, as well as at e-commerce sites, restaurants, drugstores, and public transportation services throughout the country.The number of members has surpassed 2.5 million. To provide a more convenient mobile payment service, travelers from Taiwan can now use PayPay QR codes and barcodes to make payments in Japan.
From July 1 to September 30, 2026, Taiwanese users will receive a 5.5% “Quanying” cashback on every purchase, and the 1.5% overseas transaction fee will be waived.Furthermore, by combining this with benefits from designated banks, users can receive up to 40% cashback, allowing them to enjoy great deals while traveling in Japan without the hassle of carrying cash.
