Minna no Bank announced that it will begin developing a new framework to create “partner-specific loans” optimized for the customers of its partner companies by utilizing data on those customers’ activity records (such as purchase information and service usage history).

This initiative enables partner companies to develop their own original loan products by integrating multifaceted activity data from their platforms with Minna no Bank’s banking functions (API). Going forward, the bank will explore concrete collaborations with companies that share the goal of providing new value to their own customers, strengthening customer engagement, and driving business growth through the use of financial services.
Conventional credit screening, which relies on credit information such as borrowing history and employment details like annual income, has sometimes failed to provide younger demographics with the loan service options they need. Therefore, Minna no Bank has developed a proprietary credit assessment model that, in addition to credit-based evaluations, comprehensively assesses user engagement (activity records) on partner companies’ platforms and other channels.
This will enable partner companies to offer flexible loan services to highly engaged customers using their own credit criteria.
Through this initiative, partner companies can reportedly achieve a seamless lending process (embedded finance) integrated into their own services via the APIs provided by Minna no Bank, without having to build complex financial systems from scratch.
By creating an environment where users can apply for loans via the partner companies’ platforms—which they are already accustomed to using on a daily basis—partner companies can expect to increase purchase rates for their own products and services (sales promotion) and strengthen customer loyalty by offering financial functions.
