GMO Payment Gateway (GMO-PG) will provide integrated processing for “direct debit” payments and associated administrative tasks for invoice payments on “Amazon Business,” the corporate purchasing service operated by Amazon Japan. As a result, Amazon Business began accepting “invoice payments via direct debit” on July 22, 2026. Corporate customers who use invoice payments for Amazon Business can now pay their monthly charges via direct debit.
Amazon Business is a B2B procurement service with annual global sales exceeding $60 billion. More than 87% of companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market are registered with the service, making it one of the digital platforms supporting corporate procurement of indirect materials.
Amazon Business had long received requests from corporate customers engaged in ongoing transactions who wanted to automate their monthly payment processes. Previously, users of Amazon Business’s invoice payment service had to manually make monthly bank transfers, which placed a burden on their accounting departments. To address these concerns, Amazon Business had been actively working to expand its payment options as a key initiative.
With the introduction of “invoice direct debit,” corporate customers using Amazon Business’s invoice payment service can now automate their monthly payments, reducing the burden on their accounting departments. For corporate customers who previously used credit cards, this also eliminates the hassle of updating registration information whenever their card details change.

When companies operating globally outsource payment-related operations, compliance with international auditing standards—such as SOC 1 (Statement on Assurance Regarding Internal Controls Over a Service Organization)—is a requirement for selecting a service provider.Given that compliance with these standards is a prerequisite, GMO-PG has designed a comprehensive operational framework that not only addresses audit standards but also encompasses the administrative tasks associated with direct debit settlement processing.
