Cacco (hereinafter “Cacco”) announced that its fraud detection service, “O-PLUX,” has been implemented on Herman Miller Japan’s official online store, the “Herman Miller Online Store.”

Given that the official online store handles high-priced items such as premium office chairs, it has long placed a high priority on measures to prevent credit card fraud. While the company had previously strengthened security measures—such as switching payment providers and implementing the “3-D Secure” authentication service—some fraudulent orders were still slipping through the cracks by cleverly circumventing 3-D Secure. The company had established its own manual verification system to prevent such incidents, but coping with increasingly sophisticated fraud methods and the resulting increase in operational workload had become major challenges. Consequently, the company decided to implement “O-PLUX,” a system capable of performing highly accurate, automated fraud detection.
As a result, “O-PLUX” enables accurate automated screening of fraudulent orders that could not be fully prevented by the company’s own measures or 3-D Secure alone.
Furthermore, the system automates the manual verification of order data, a task that previously required significant man-hours from staff. This has enabled the company to transition to an efficient operational system where only suspicious orders are pinpointed for verification and resolution.
