To further enhance the user experience of its prepaid electronic money service “BitCash,” BitCash launched its official smartphone app, the “BitCash App,” on July 29, 2026.

In addition to offering the various features previously available through “My BitCash,” the app includes new smartphone-specific features such as passkey authentication and the ability to scan Hiragana IDs using the camera, providing a safer and more convenient environment for using BitCash.
BitCash is a prepaid electronic money service that can be used to pay for a wide range of digital content, including online games, videos, music, and e-books. It can be purchased at approximately 60,000 stores nationwide (as of July 2026) and supports various recharge methods, such as credit cards, online banking, and PayPay.
Furthermore, BitCash is a prepaid payment service designed to meet the needs of users who “do not have a credit card” or “do not want to register their card information for security or privacy reasons.” Since users can manage their spending in advance, it helps prevent overspending.Furthermore, by registering as a member, users can top up their accounts not only at convenience stores but also online, and reportedly enjoy even greater convenience through benefits such as reward points and exclusive campaigns.
BitCash also employs PassKey authentication, which supports facial and fingerprint recognition. Users can log in securely and smoothly without the hassle of entering a password.
Furthermore, users can scan their BitCash Hiragana ID using their smartphone’s camera. This reduces the burden of manual entry and minimizes input errors, making top-ups even simpler.
Additionally, at participating merchants, users can pay with BitCash by scanning a QR code with the app. This eliminates the need to enter codes manually and provides a smoother payment experience.
