[Japan] Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Club, the issuer of Diners Club cards, has once again sponsored the French cuisine festival “Diners Club France Restaurant Week 2026” (September 18–October 18, 2026).During this period, more than 500 French restaurants across Japan will offer special French course menus—featuring local ingredients and chefs’ expertise—at reasonable prices. The event is open to everyone, not just Diners Club members.

This year’s theme is “Sustainable French,” delivering a culinary experience that harmonizes eco-friendly initiatives with the unique charm of French cuisine. During the event, participating restaurants will serve special dishes that embody “Sustainable French” from various perspectives, including environmental considerations, support for producers, and health-conscious food choices.
Every year during “Diners Club France Restaurant Week,” “Focus Chefs”—chefs to watch this year from across the country—are selected based on criteria such as “establishing and expressing their own culinary concept,” “actively promoting the appeal of local and Japanese ingredients,” and “being a future candidate for a Michelin star.”
This year’s “Focus Chefs” are Chef Masataka Nozaki of “comfort dining DADA” in Iwate Prefecture,Chef Seiya Matsuda of “TOUTE MA VIE” in Yamagata Prefecture; Chef Mizuki Murata of “L’atelier de oto” in Tokyo; Chef Johan Da Costa of “Peter” at The Peninsula Tokyo; Chef Takanori Suzuki of “HANROK” in Aichi Prefecture; andand Chef Yuichi Inui of “Restaurant Chambord” at the Rihga Royal Hotel Kokura in Fukuoka Prefecture will serve their signature dishes as featured chefs.
The “Diners Club France Restaurant Week” is a gourmet event designed to make French cuisine more accessible and enjoyable.True to its brand name, “Diners Club” (a club for those who enjoy dining), Diners Club offers a variety of gourmet services. It regards this event as the flagship of its gourmet-related offerings and has served as the title sponsor since the first edition in 2011.During the event, anyone can enjoy the set menus at special event prices, even if they do not hold a Diners Club card. More than 500 French restaurants across Japan are participating this year, offering special set menus at three price points: 3,000 yen, 6,000 yen, and 10,000 yen.
