[Japan] Net Protections (Tokyo, Japan) announced that it began accepting transactions in July 2026 through Sumitomo Mitsui Card’s “NP Kake-barai” business-to-business (B2B) payment service.
This initiative marks the first concrete result of the basic agreement on a business alliance signed with Sumitomo Mitsui Card in February 2026, as well as the brokerage efforts that began in May of the same year.
NetProtections and Sumitomo Mitsui Card signed a basic agreement on a business alliance in February 2026, aiming to create high-value-added services in the B2B payments sector and deliver value to a broad base of corporate customers.As the first concrete step in this collaboration, they began acting as an intermediary for Sumitomo Mitsui Card’s “NP Installment Payment” service on May 25, 2026.
Net Protections operates “NP Installment Payments,” a service that supports corporate business growth by offering credit sales to new business partners based on its proprietary credit assessment and by outsourcing billing operations.
Going forward, the two companies aim to further expand the number of “NP Installment Payment” transactions accepted through this brokerage arrangement, thereby helping more corporate customers expand their client base, increase sales, and achieve business growth.Furthermore, the two companies plan to go beyond mere brokerage and pursue initiatives to create synergies by combining their respective customer bases and solutions, including marketing collaborations with “Trunk,” the comprehensive digital financial service for corporations provided by the SMBC Group.
