[Japan] Konoru (Tokyo, Japan) has entered into a strategic technology partnership agreement with Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (hereinafter “ACS”), a Hong Kong-based company that globally markets IC cards, NFC, identity verification devices, and other products, effective July 1, 2026.
Under this partnership, Konoru will combine its expertise in Wallet integration, hotel access management, firmware, cloud infrastructure, and implementation and business development capabilities in the Japanese market with ACS’s development capabilities for Wallet-compatible NFC readers, passport readers, and IC card and identity verification-related hardware, as well as its global production and supply infrastructure.
Starting with access management for hotels and facilities, the two companies will focus on membership cards, tickets, and digital keys utilizing Wallet, as well as identity verification using passports and other documents, to advance joint proposals, build use cases, and jointly develop products and solutions.
The two companies have previously collaborated on initiatives such as integrating ACS passport readers with Konoru’s hotel systems, conducting joint demonstrations utilizing Wallet and NFC technologies, and presenting joint proposals at trade shows including the International Hotel & Restaurant Show.With the signing of this agreement, the two companies will elevate their previously separate collaborative efforts to a strategic technology partnership and establish a framework for continuously combining their respective technologies and market foundations.
Initially, this partnership will focus on the access control market in Japan, including hotels, lodging facilities, offices, commercial facilities, and other venues. Going forward, the companies plan to explore joint expansion into overseas markets, including Asia, by leveraging Konoru’s implementation and operational expertise accumulated in the Japanese market and ACS’s global product supply and sales infrastructure.
